Hellen Ommani Teach Maths to Middle School and High School using

My experience is in teaching the British National Curriculum, American Curriculum, International Baccalaureate, AP Physics and Calculus. If given this chance I will bring on board my wealth of experience in different teaching styles that I have acquired in my 10+ years of experience. I extensively practiced enquiry based learning during the five years I taught IB- a style that lets me help the students observe situations, ask good questions, identify real problems and come up with solutions. I will also bring with me Project Based Learning where they can develop models and use them to solve problems.I believe that there are different methods or ways to reach a solution in mathematics and I allow my students to think critically and come up with other ways-and this brings about sustainable learning in my learners. I will assist my students to express themselves and accept themselves for who they are, as well embrace the differences of others by connecting my lessons to different cultures in my classroom. Every classroom has its own unique community; my role will be to assist each child in developing their own potential and learning style. I have excellent teaching strategies that include differentiation and scaffolding to take care of the diversities in the classroom, I always use phenomenon to anchor knowledge I believe in Benjamin Franklin words “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn." Therefore I always incorporate hands-on activities, cooperative learning, projects, themes, and individual work that engage and activate students learning.
